No. Sleep breathing patterns and sleep apnea symptoms can change from night to night, and can worsen with age, weight gain, stress levels or with some medical conditions. The quality of an individual’s sleep can also vary with sleeping posture, eating and drinking habits, or with medications.
For these reasons, screening for three nights is advised in order to obtain the most accurate picture of an individual's sleep health. Variances in sleep breathing for one evening to another are common, and therefore reported results may vary as well.
